STEPS: Semantic Typing of Event Processes with a Sequence-to-Sequence Approach

چکیده
Enabling computers to comprehend the intent of human actions by processing language is one fundamental goals Natural Language Understanding. An emerging task in this context that free-form event process typing, which aims at understanding overall goal a protagonist terms an action and object, given sequence events. This was initially treated as learning-to-rank problem exploiting similarity between processes action/object textual definitions. However, approach appears be overly complex, binds output types fixed inventory for possible word definitions and, moreover, leaves space further enhancements regards performance. In paper, we advance field reformulating typing generation put forward STEPS, end-to-end producing user objects only, dispensing with need their addition this, eliminate several dataset constraints set previous works, while same time significantly outperforming them. We release data software https://github.com/SapienzaNLP/steps.

a frame semantic approach to the study of translating cultural scripts in salingers franny and zooey
the frame semantic theory is a nascent approach in the area of translation studies which goes beyond the linguistic barriers and helps us to incorporate cognitive and cultural factors to the study of translation. based on rojos analytical model (2002b), which centered in the frames or knowledge structures activated in the text, the present research explores the various translation problems that...

This paper presents an approach to the task of predicting an event description from a preceding sentence in a text. Our approach explores sequence-to-sequence learning using a bidirectional multi-layer recurrent neural network. Our approach substantially outperforms previous work in terms of the BLEU score on two datasets derived from WIKIHOW and DESCRIPT respectively. Since the BLEU score is n...
متن کاملA pattern sequence approach to Stern's sequence
Let w ∈ 1{0, 1} * and let a w (n) be the number of occurrences of the word w in the binary expansion of n. Let {s(n)} n0 denote the Stern sequence, defined by s(0) = 0, s(1) = 1, and for n 1 s(2n) = s(n), and s(2n + 1) = s(n) + s(n + 1). In this note, we show that s(n) = a 1 (n) + w∈1{0,1} * s([w] 2)a w1 (n) where w denotes the complement of w (obtained by sending 0 → 1 and 1 → 0) and [w] 2 den...

The goal of the research being reported is the discovery of useful concepts in temporal medical databases. Building on previous experiments, we introduce TEMPADIS, the Temporal Pattern Discovery System, which uses our Event Set Sequence approach to discover sequential patterns in medical data. We discuss problems unique to mining medical databases and introduce techniques to overcome some of th...
